diagnosis and exploration

If your coders accept all the problems your testers find - including the intermittent, non-reproducible ones - then they need diagnostic skills.

If not, your testers need diagnostic skills to make the bug more easily reproducible

Who's teaching / writing about diagnostic skills? How are they characteristically different from analysis skills?

this is a good point, although people know this, they do miss it out sometimes. Making them aware should be the first step towards the approach of giving logs for the bugs found.
